Product Details

St. Johns Wort is a beautiful plant that bears bright yellow petals in flowering tops. Traditionally its petals were gathered in midsummer to be used in herbal medicine, and now the entire plant is used. When making tinctures or oils out of St. Johns Wort you will be surprised with a deeply rich, red colour that comes from one of its medicinally active compounds, hypericin.

This plant has been used for centuries for its antidepressant action, and it is also considered antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anti parasitic, and has pain-relieving properties! I imagine that its antidepressant effect can be attributed to its wide variety of actions in the body-- depression can stem from chronic fatigue, chronic pain, inflammation in the brain, and bacterial imbalances/parasitic infestation among other things!
